Board meeting
The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a public work session at the middle school at 8 p.m. on Oct. 27.


Beach Cleanup

The Long Beach High School Surf Club invites local residents to join its fourth annual community beach cleanup starting at National Boulevard beach at 12 p.m. Oct. 24 and 12 at Bags and gloves will be provided.


Underage drinking
The Long Beach Middle School guidance department will host an important parent information meeting at the school at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 4. Judi Vining, coordinator of the Long Beach Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, will facilitate a discussion about underage drinking, drug use, peer pressure, curfews and house rules. All middle school parents are urged to attend.

Mini college fair
The Long Beach High School guidance department will host a mini college fair on Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

East PARP family night
East School’s PARP Family Night will take place on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Parent meeting
The high school guidance department will host an information meeting for parents of students in grades 9 and 10 on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m.

Varsity football
The Marines line up against Roslyn at home on Oct. 31. Kick-off time is 1:30 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Field at the middle school.
