School calendar

Board meeting

The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a work session at the Long Beach Middle School at 8 p.m. on Sept. 29.

Homecoming parade and game

Long Beach High School Homecoming is scheduled for Sept. 25, with the Marines lining up against Great Neck South at 7 p.m. on Veterans Memorial Field at Long Beach Middle School. The festivities will commence with a parade at 4 p.m. from East School to LBMS. The annual carnival will follow at the middle school gym at 6:30 p.m., with food, games and activities for children of all ages.

Wall of Fame Induction

As the grand finale to the homecoming festivities, the annual Wall of Fame induction ceremony will be held at the high school at 10 a.m. on Sept. 26. This year’s honorees will be Mitch Fenton, Gregory D. Sofield, Audrey Remo, and Carmine Verde.

Adult education

In-person registration for Long Beach Public Schools Adult Education classes will take place on Sept. 21 and Sept. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School. Fall classes will begin on Oct. 5.

Blackheath back to school night

The Blackheath Pre-K School will host its annual Back to School Night in two sessions, at 6 and 6:30 p.m., on Sept. 17.

LBMS back to school night

Long Beach Middle School’s back to school night will be held on Sept. 22 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Elementary back to school night will take place on Sept. 24 from 7 to 8:15 p.m. at all four elementary schools.
