Rockville Centre resident LaTonja Lee is the first Black female athletic trainer at Molloy College, but being a trailblazer isn’t enough for her. She said her goal is to help youth in underserved areas by teaching them what it’s like to be an athletic trainer and educating them about healthy living.

As with many things during the coronavirus pandemic, South Side High School’s Centre Stage production looked a little bit different this year. The usual live stage play of skits turned into a movie premiere, where the stars got a red carpet entrance in front of a crowd many on the John A. Anderson Recreation Centre lawn on June 10.

On Oct. 16, 2018, Rockville Centre lost a very special girl. Gabriella Pellicani, known to her friends and family as “Gabi,” died at the age of 5 after a battle with brain cancer. On June 6, St. Mark’s Cooperative Nursery School unveiled a tribute to the late student, Gabi’s Garden, to ensure her brave battle with the disease and its impact on the community will not be forgotten.
