Happy holidays
Sgt. Thomas Yannelli, the son of village residents Frank and Roberta Yannelli, sends his heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude for the prayers and support he has received from all of the Rockville Centre students, friends, neighbors, veterans and family who have been so generous with letters, cards, well wishes and care packages, especially for the holidays.
Thomas is a combat infantryman, currently serving his second tour of duty in Mosul, Iraq. The photo illustrates the leadership skills Thomas honed at South Side High School in action with Iraqi children. “There is goodness everywhere,” Thomas said.
When his tour ends this spring, his family hopes that Thomas will return home to his wife, Sheila and their 2-year-old son, Dylan, who will no longer have to say “good night” to his Dad’s picture.
