Marissa Katz, of Rockville Centre, getting married

Susan and Hym Katz are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Marissa Katz to Sergio Socolovsky, son of Marta and Jaime Socolovsky. Marissa and Sergio met at a Shabbat dinner in Manhattan where Uruguay met Long Island, and the two have been happily inseparable ever since.

Marissa Katz is a graduate of South Side High School, class of ’97 and received her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance at Boston University. She is currently a musical theater and classical performer, Cantorial Soloist at Temple Shaaray Tefila in Westchester County, and a private voice teacher. Sergio Socolovsky received his Diploma of Architecture and Architect's License from the University of Uruguay and his Masters Degree in Architecture from

Science University of Tokyo. He is also a New York State registered architect. 

The wedding will take place on Sunday, Aug. 22 in Woodbury, Long Island.
