The Village Art Club of Rockville Centre in partnership with the Barnes Gallery in Garden City South, hosted “A September to Remember,” a month-long artist exhibition featuring artwork created by the local artist community.

“It was a huge success,” Arleen Rueth Urban, editor of the VAC Palette, an online newsletter published by the artist organization. “We had a lot of guests and artists attend and several paintings were sold.”

More than 30 members of the Village Art Club were given the opportunity to display two of their own original oil, acrylic, pastel or watercolor-based paintings in the gallery throughout the month of September, all of which were made available for purchase.

The event culminated with a reception on Sept. 23, which featured a live musical performance by Joe Cupani and Company and refreshments.

“There was a very good turnout considering the weather,” Urban said.
