Burglary arrest
Nassau County detectives say they arrested a Queens man in connection with two recent burglaries — including one that took place in Rockville Centre in December — and that they had help in finding him because he dropped his wallet at a home he was allegedly burglarizing.
According to police, Pablo Paredes, 25, of Brian Crescent entered an occupied home on Tennyson Avenue in Baldwin at 11 a.m. on Jan. 5 by breaking a basement window. A woman was in the home at the time.
While Paredes was inside the house, police say its burglar alarm went off, forcing him to flee without taking anything and perhaps causing him to drop his wallet. Police said witnesses were able to identify Paredes after seeing him outside.
First Squad detectives arrested Parades later that afternoon at his Queens apartment. During the investigation, police say Paredes admitted to burglarizing a home on The Fenway in Rockville Centre on Dec. 18 at 8:30 a.m. He allegedly got into that house through a rear window and stole a flat screen television and a gaming system. Police say they found the gaming system in Parede’s vehicle.

Police charged Paredes with two counts of burglary and he was arraigned on Jan. 6 in First District Court in Hempstead.
