People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

Georgian J. Ford, 35, of Brooklyn was arrested on Feb. 2 and charged with petit larceny after he allegedly stole merchandise from a N. Village Avenue store.

Vincent A. Barone, 27, of New Place, Bellmore, was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with assault following a disturbance outside a N. Park Avenue bar.

Alvin A. Bryson, 68, of Lake Point Drive, Middle Island, was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test and a vehicle traffic law violation after police saw him driving on Sunrise Highway.

Larcenies

On Jan. 27 a Tarence Street resident told police that someone used his credit card information to purchase $1,812.64 in merchandise without his permission.

On Jan. 30 a Marvin Avenue resident told police that a GPS device was taken without permission from her car while it was parked in her driveway.

On Feb. 4 resident of Hendrickson Avenue told police that her wallet was stolen from a S. Park Avenue laundromat.

A resident of Huntington told police on Feb. 2 that belongings were stolen from her car, which was parked at Skelos Field between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.

A Sunrise highway merchant reported to police on Feb. 5 that a snow blower and ice melt were taken without permission from the storage area of the business.

Unusual incident

On Feb. 1, a Merrick Avenue resident told police that someone used her social security information to file a tax return without her permission.
