People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

Carolyn Angrisani, 58, of Lenox Road was arrested on Jan. 19 and charged with obstructing governmental administration and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. According to police, Angrisani was arrested at her home after she allegedly ran over the foot of a Rockville Centre Neighborhood Aide who was issuing parking tickets in Municipal Parking Field 16. Police said she left the scene. The aide was treated and later released from South Nassau Communities Hospital.

Christopher Whitlock, 42, of Springfield Gardens was arrested on Jan. 19 at 12:40 a.m. and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and additional vehicle traffic law violations after police say they watched him driving on Sunrise Highway.

Johnny Lewis, 48, of Booth Street, Hempstead, was arrested at 11:25 p.m. on Jan. 19 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and vehicle traffic law violations after police say they saw him driving on N. Centre Avenue with a stolen license plate.

Nicholas Maggio, 21, of Seaford, was arrested on Jan. 24 at 4:05 a.m. and charged with disturbing the peace and obstructing governmental administration after police said he caused a disturbance near a N. Village Avenue bar.

Burglaries

On Jan. 19, an Addison Place resident told police that between 12:30 a.m. and 6:45 a.m., someone entered through the side door of the home and stole a computer and approximately $1,000 in gifts.

Also on Jan. 19, a resident of Virginia Avenue reported to police that someone cut a first-floor living room window screen between Jan. 18 at 11 p.m. and the next morning at 6:45 a.m.

That same day, two residents from Strathmore Lane told police that between 12:10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m., window screens on the rear of their residences were moved. There was no damage to either home and no one entered either house.

On Jan. 20, a Park Lane resident reported to police that her house alarm was activated at 3:15 a.m. and a rear door screen was found to have been cut.

Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 21, someone damaged a rear door to a home on Forestdale Road and removed an XBox 360, Coach wallet, assorted jewelry and two checkbooks.

Rockville Centre police and Nassau County First Squad detectives are investigating these burglaries and attempted burglaries.

Larcenies

On Jan. 21, a Morris Avenue resident reported that someone made online purchases valued at $666.37 with her Citibank debit card without her knowledge or permission.

On the same day, a woman told police that someone stole a GPS and a pair of gloves from her unlocked car that was parked in front of her Ormond Street home.

Charged with grand larceny

The Nassau County Crimes Against Property Squad reports the arrest of a Howard Beach man, Evan Greenberg, 38, after he allegedly deposited a counterfeit check into a personal account at the Chase bank branch on N. Village Avenue. According to police, after depositing the check, Greenberg negotiated multiple withdrawals, totaling more than $45,000 against it. After an investigation, police arrested Greenberg and charged him with grand larceny. He was arraigned on Jan. 20 in First District Court in Hempstead.
