Arrests

Clinton Ganaishal, 25, of 111th Street, Richmond Hill was arrested on Nov. 15 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation. Police say they arrested him after they stopped him on Sunrise Highway near N. Centre Avenue for failing to signal a lane change, and found he was driving with a suspended license.

John Miller, 30, of Saratoga Boulevard, Island Park, was arrested at 1:10 a.m. on Nov. 16 and charged with possession of a controlled substance. According to police, Miller was arrested after they saw him obstructing traffic at the corner of N. Long Beach and Hamilton roads, and upon approaching, saw him discard a crack pipe. The officers say they also found a small cellophane package containing a substance they identified as cocaine in his possession.

Juan Menjivar, 46, of Central Avenue, Far Rockaway was arrested on Nov. 15 at 3:10 a.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated. Police say they arrested Menjivar at the scene of a minor one-car auto accident near 416 Merrick Road and that when they learned he was the driver of the vehicle involved, they determined that he had been driving while intoxicated. A passenger in the car sustained a minor injury during the accident but did not require medical aid.

Auto theft

On Nov. 14 at 10:45 a.m., an employee at Lexus of Rockville Centre, 700 Sunrise Highway, reported to police that someone stole a 2008 Lexus, LS460, from the dealership parking lot.

Burglary

On Nov. 13 at 7:57 a.m., the owner of American Burgers, 326A Sunrise Highway, told police that someone broke a rear window to get into the restaurant and stole $120 in cash from inside the restaurant.

Identity theft

On Nov. 11 at 12:30 p.m., a resident of Maine Avenue reported to police that someone forged her signature on bank withdrawal slips and removed a total of approximately $15,000 from her checking account at an unknown bank branch. In addition, a credit card account was opened in the victim’s name without her knowledge or permission.

Larcenies

At 11:55 a.m. on Nov. 12, a resident of Linden Street told police that someone entered his car which was parked in front of his home and stole a Blackberry device from inside the car.
