SSHS Booster Club Dinner Dance

This annual fundraiser will take place on Jan. 30 at Temple B’Nai Sholom., Hempstead Ave., from 7:30 p.m. – midnight. Tailgate /casual attire; $60 per ticket. The dance supports South Side High School’s student athletes. There will be good food, a cocktail hour, raffle prizes, a Super Bowl pool and a live band. For more information, call (516) 763-1992.

Catholic Schools Week

From Jan. 31 through Feb. 5, St. Agnes Cathedral Elementary School will celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2010.The celebration will begin in the Cathedral with a 9:30 am Mass on Jan. 31. Following that is an open house, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., that is open to everyone. Registration for the St. Agnes Cathedral Elementary School for the 2010-11 school year will take place on Feb. 2 and 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  There are limited openings for grades 1 to 6 and those residing within the St. Agnes Cathedral Parish will receive priority placement. There are presently no openings for grades 7 and 8. A Baptismal certificate and an Offertory envelope from the church in which each family is registered must be presented. There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee for grades 1-8 and a $150 non-refundable registration fee for kindergarten.

Irish Classes at Molloy College

The school is offering Irish Gaelic classes on Saturdays from 9:30 a..m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning Feb. 6.  The course will be taught by Hazel Ní Chonaire Chrobet. Information is now available at muscente@
