Welcome to our school

St. Agnes Cathedral Elementary School took part in Catholic Schools Week this year with a special Mass, an open house, a reception and registration for the coming school year. This year’s theme, “Catholic Schools — Dividends for Life” focused on the schools’ contributions to their communities.

The celebration at St. Agnes began on Jan. 31 with a 9:30 Mass in the Cathedral. Following that, from 11 a.m. to 12:30, St. Agnes swung open its doors for an open house, with co-principals Sr. Kathleen Carlin and Helen Newman and other representatives on hand to welcome prospective students and their families, accompany them on a tour of the spacious and well-equipped facility, and field any questions families may have had.

Registration for the 2010-11 school year was held on Feb. 2 and 3. The school, with students from kindergarten through 8th grade, had limited openings for students in grades 1 to 6. Families living within the St. Agnes Cathedral Parish received priority placement. The school said it had no openings for students in 7th and 8th grades. Families registering their children were required to present Baptismal certificates for each student and an Offertory envelope from the church in which each family is registered and were asked for a $50 non-refundable registration fee for children in grades 1-8 and a $150 non-refundable registration fee for kindergartners.
