Despite a downpour later of rainy weather, residents turned out for Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages and Nassau County Legislator Carrié Solages' annual Elmont Family Day and Basketball Tournament on July 18 at 1880 Dutch Broadway. Hosted in collaboration with Core Group Enterprises and BeingEgypt Cares, the free event featured youth basketball, family-friendly activities, food and entertainment. Community members gathered throughout the day to enjoy sports and connect with neighbors despite the less-than-ideal weather.
