Xavier Sagar, a South Side High School senior and vice president of the school’s Military History Club, is pictured with some of the bottles he collects weekly from Rockville Centre schools. He has founded “Recycling for Veterans Causes,” and recycled thousands of bottles for five cents each and donated the hundreds of dollars refunded to The Wounded Warrior Project to aid veterans. With this “win-win” effort, Xavier has been instrumental in both caring for the environment and raising money for a worthy cause — without soliciting for donations. more
